Jupa and Poppin 2

Another series of Poppin and Jupa sketches! I wanted to experiment a little with colors too.

Overall though I wanted to show their personalities a little more. Poppin is pretty optimistic and enthusiastic, to a naive point. He can tend to be shortsighted and miss the larger scheme of things, but once he’s given a clear direction he tends to see through to the end. Despite how upbeat he is, he’s actually pretty quiet around strangers and tends to be humble.

Jupa, the scarecrow, is more cautious instead. She can become pretty emotional, and will quickly share her thoughts. Once she calms down though she’s very intelligent, and due to her nature (long story short she wasn’t always a scarecrow), she possesses some extraordinary abilities and senses. This leads to her not understanding some common things like food and sleep, and she gets really paranoid about certain dangers (even a little spark of fire freaks her out).

Their personalities are meant to balance each other out, which is pretty basic, but they do share a love for discovering the world beyond what they know and enjoy helping people out if they need it.
